Does anyone know any good ideas for writing a children's story?

I have to have at least something like a lesson to be learned like tying your shoes or learning how to multiply. this story is for children nine and under

Does anyone know any good ideas for writing a children%26#039;s story?
If people give you their ideas, you are technically stealing, even if that might sound hokey. Here are some ways to get creative on your own. Reminisce about your own childhood memories and modify them to make them more like a good story or an interesting one. Paint, look at images on the web [in a search engine type children, or animals or something whimsical] Almost anything can inspire you! Have fun!


PS: Have you ever thought of taking an old fairy tale and changing the plot and possibly the setting, while keeping the characters? Check out the flick Everafter to see what I mean. The story is a typical fairy tale in the beggining, and changes into a cute modern day children%26#039;s story which is much more interesting.


Remember not make a plot predictable or boring! This has been done already and is totally played out.

Reply:First things first it depends on what type of children%26#039;s book educational, humorous, etc. Well since i don%26#039;t know I%26#039;ll tell you them all


Educational- make sure you include pictures to show how to do or what whatever it is that you are trying to teach. don%26#039;t have too many big words.


Humorous- make sure you include pictures and rhyming word that aren%26#039;t real but little kids would know what the are (such as poopy-doopy or icky-rick.y)

I%26#039;ve already bought the cloth swim diapers (they don%26#039;t allow the disposable kind). I have water shoes for both kids. We have a brand new bottle of sunblock. We%26#039;ll obviously take children%26#039;s medicines with us just in case. We%26#039;re driving their so we%26#039;ll have some things to keep them entertained in the car.





It%26#039;s difficult planning for such a multi-faceted vacation -car trip, hotel stay, cruise, and shore excursions. We%26#039;ve been on a cruise before, but never with kids.

Reply:You are gonna need toys for them and other things to do. Bring both child%26#039;s favorite toys especially for the hotels. Not alot for little ones to do other than the pool and if your at hotel for awhile that gets a little old. I brought some paper and crayons and books lots of book. Reading to the kids calms them as well as occupies their minds. Have fun

Advice for cruise travel with young children?
You already sound pretty prepared, the rest is really up to your parenting style!





As long as the kids see it as rewally fun, it won%26#039;t be hard at all. The moment they get bored is when its going to be a parental nightmare.





If the cruise has a nanny-service for some of the time, that could give you guys some time off to do %26quot;grown-up things%26quot;. Holidays with kids are a wonderful and bpnding experience, but it leaves very little time for the adults to actually do what they want to.





I hope you guys find the perfect balance! There is no advice I can give you that you probably haven%26#039;t already considered :D

Reply:i took a small blow up two ring pool on my cruise.i blew it up and placed it next to my beach chair(there are no baby pools on a cruise)for my child to play and at night i used it for a tub because there are none.i also would bring some dish detergent to wash sippy cups with as you will probably need them.also some kind of swimmies for your older child as the pools are deep.also..i always pack some kind of double sided velco strips ,come in handy to block off a room that small with a sheet or something.it will give you some privacy to read or watch tv without the kids seeing you.i managed and it was great...have fun oh yeah...bring a dvd player and some of their movies for entertainment.

Im 13 and most kids in my class were size 8 before i was size 5 but I was still shocked when I found I could no longer fit children%26#039;s shoes. Also what age do girls feet stop growing?

I grew fast. so it all depends how fast you are growing.

However, if you go barefoot a lot your feet will get bigger.

Reply:I have a 13-year-old daughter who was wearing women%26#039;s sizes before she was six years old. Unfortunately, she inherited her father%26#039;s large feed and she now wears a size 11 in women%26#039;s. I think her feet are still growing and she will eventually have to wear a size 12.





Another thing I%26#039;d like to mention is that even though women%26#039;s foot sizes can remain stable for years after their feet stopped growing, it is possible for them to go up a size after they%26#039;ve had a baby. I had to get rid of a bunch of shoes after I had my first daughter because they no longer fit me.

Baby Shoes & Sandals?

My child will be born on January 1 (if he%26#039;s on time) and I wanted to buy some cute shoes for him for the summer, I am not sure what size he will be though. I know that it will not be the same for any child but is there a website where you can see how big your child%26#039;s feet will be at a certain age? I tried googling it but I can%26#039;t find anything

they go by 0-6monts, 6-12 months, ect my daughter wore 0-6 moths until she was 10 moths and now she is 16 months but still in 6-12 month size. Plus she is big for her age and always has been. I%26#039;d get some 0-6 month ones.

Reply:Buy a 3 or a 4. He%26#039;ll be 6 months old and about in that size range by summer. BUT, no two kids are the same. He could be 6 months old and wearing 12 month clothes and size 5 shoes, or he could be really small and still wearing a 2. It%26#039;s better to just wait until you get to the spring to buy his sandals. If you find clearance shoes now and buy them, just keep in mind that they might fit and they might not. Hope this helps!

Reply:I hate to give such a boring answer like this, but I say don%26#039;t waste your money. There%26#039;s no way to tell what size or style you might want. If he%26#039;s crawling by then, you%26#039;ll need shoes for crawling. By end of summer, he may be pulling up and cruising and you%26#039;ll need shoes for that. Shoes are the hardest thing to buy ahead of time.
Reply:I know this isn%26#039;t really the answer you were looking for, but you should wait until summer gets closer to buy these shoes. You can see how big your child%26#039;s feet are growing. (My son always had feet much bigger than his age - he was wearing 12-18 month Robeez at 7 months!)





Also, most shoes in stores at this time of year are for winter. If you want shoes appropriate for summer, you won%26#039;t see them in stores until spring.
Reply:I agree with the first answerer: Robeez are the way to go (or, if you%26#039;re cheap like me, the Target knock-offs which are about 1/3 the price). Children younger than 2 should not have hard-soled shoes, so these are just perfect. PLUS they are sold by %26quot;age%26quot; like baby clothes, so you can buy him whatever size his age will be, and they will be pretty close!

Wow ! What a well written story! I never thought of some of these things but it is just a fairy tale. So...Goldilocks commits crimes of B%26amp;E, theft, (petty though with the porridge),


Now the chair is a felony, as it is valuable, and in crime four, she is just a dirty girl and should wash up the bedding. I%26#039;ll let the judge sentence her and change this whole story.


What about Little Red Riding Hood? The wolf wants to eat her as he disguises himself as Grandma. Whatever shall we do to the big bad wolf?


The beauty of fairy tales is that we can make them anything we want to be. How cruel is it to sing a lullaby to your baby, when the bow breaks and the cradle will fall? If the baby lives, this is child abuse and if it doesn%26#039;t it%26#039;s murder. Interesting!

What is more important to children's foot health ...?

Buying children properly-fitting shoes that give their feet protection from the elements and support or buying them fancy-looking trainers with flashing lights and so on because they %26quot;want%26quot; (not *need*)them and so storing up problems for them in the future?


I had to scrimp and save to clothe my four boys (admittedly with help from my Mother and Father which I gratefully accepted) but one thing they always had were properly-fitting shoes whenever they needed a new pair and they were the one item of clothing not passed down from the older to the younger ones or shared between them.


These days of course some children hardly walk anywhere but I take my grandsons walking shopping and to the park and wish that they be properly shod - their feet will have to last them for a lifetime as all of ours will and need care especially while growing - I only hope that today%26#039;s parents take that on board.

i always buy my daughters shoes in clarks and get her feet properly measured each time.


i know its expensive but what price can you put on your childs feet (and health in general)?
Reply:Children should have good shoes, certainly. That is not to say that the fancy looking trainers with flashing lights are bad. They could be in far worse, and frequently are!


Most kids trainers will have a certain amount of arch support built in, unlike some of the cheap dress shoes on offer. It%26#039;s the plimsoll and thin soled shoes (which can be very expensive) that I have the problem with... not to mention those tiny stiletto heels for kids... not only gross, but asking for foot problems later!


Like most everything else, trainers are fine in moderation, and are good for running and jumping etc, as long as they%26#039;re not worn ALL the time!
Reply:I believe they have certain standards they use for all children%26#039;s shoes these days. So any shoes bought should be alright. The only exceptions, really, are certain sports, where you need specially designed shoes.
Reply:It is quite possible, these days, to get shoes that are both well fitting and supportive as well as stylish. I don%26#039;t think there necessarily must be a compromise when seeking both.
Reply:The proper fitting shoes, of course. I didn%26#039;t have much money either, so my son understood at an early age that all those frills cost money, and to learn what%26#039;s really important. He was just as happy with those ten dollar sneakers. (And some of them look pretty sharp, too.)
Reply:Of course, we have to look after the whole of bodies, but I was always brought up with properly fitted shoes, and even now both my boys are in their teens, they still have their feet measured and shoes fitted! I had feet that turned inwards as a I walked and my mother religiously sent me for physiotherapy as a child which corrected my problem. I do agree we have to look after feet - and also our teeth!





Sometimes you have to pay a little extra but you can get properly fitted jazzy and trendy trainers!
Reply:you can have both the flashy shoes just are appealing to kids and parents but they are well made. At least most brands are. We buy Stride Rite and other well made shoes but we buy things that we think are cute. Also there are very very very few plain shoes nowadays especially for little girls. They all have lights and sparkles etc. Fancy shoes like that are not like shoes for us they do offer good support for their feet.
Reply:Shoes are different now to how they were way back in your day. You do not have to spend a fortune to get a good shoe. Often the cheaper ones can be a good fit.


Mine have orthotics so Yes I take very good care of my childrens feet but I find to get shoes that fit the orthotics I often have to go for a cheaper shoe

Reply:How do you know the trainers with the flashing lights don%26#039;t fit? Just because they%26#039;re not orthopedics doesn%26#039;t mean they%26#039;re damaging to a child%26#039;s feet. And children should be able to have fun with their clothing. Those shoes aren%26#039;t hurting your grandkids one little bit.





I hope your DIL has a yahoo account, and sues you one day over the way you portray her.
Reply:i had the same concern as my eldest was born with twisted feet on asking the specialist what was best he suggested trainers it does not matter weather they have flashing lights or not they are better for growing feet as they Lowe them to st reach and give a lot more than shoes so both of my boys wear trainers except for school when they we are good shoes also trainers are cheaper than shoes and as children shoes are almost as expensive as adults and as they grow out of them very fast it make economical sense
Reply:I have always bought %26quot;proper%26quot; shoes for my children for school because they are wearing them for like 6 hours a day and need the support to their feet. However, I compromise and get them trainers for the weekend. If you can get them from a discount sports shop you can get leather trainers for £10 to £15.
